Mountain of Beynes

The natural unit of the Montagne de Beynes is limited to the West and North, to the East by the river ASSE and the Asse of Blieux since Estoublon passing by Châteauredon, Mézel, Chaudon-Norante; to the South by the track of the Mussel, the former village of hair (in ruins), Pas de L'Escale and the river of the Estoublaisse until Estoublon.

Beynes mountain (1, 600 M) (J2)

Since Preynes.
All difficulties: P3, passages T1 (average hikers).
Time: meaning of the description: 2 h, reverse: 1½ hours elevation gain: climb: 704 m.
Mileage: 2,900 km. Features: direct and painful route allowing quick access to the Summit. A perform from October to may.

Description of the route

On C.D. 907 with Estoublon, Mezel, take the small road C.D. 17 up to Majastres, upstream of the Pont du Pas de L'Escale. Possibility of parking in alcoves of the road. Join the path going to the farm of Preynes (alt.: 896 m). Take this path starting by crossing the bridge that spans the ravine of Pas de L'Escale, and stand to the North. The first pin, do not come back to the farm of Preynes but continue in the same direction by a trail amount in a gully, dominated on the left by sometimes imposing escarpments of strata. On the right side of the Creek bed, we guess small ruins, more numerous when it comes to the plane of the lower Senieres (alt.: 956 m).
•    Road: 15 minutes. Leave the Gully and by a small path, climbing on the left flank (East of the mountain of Beynes face) by a very steep side (P2-P3-T1).The terrain is irregular, in small rock strata discharged, invaded boxwood. The climb to the Northwest is very painful, until you reach the edge of the Ridge, over high Rocky bars (alt.: 1,132 m).
•    The ruins of the bass Senieres: 30 mins. Follow the edge of the ridge by sometimes climbing small rocky steps (P3 - T1). The coast is still very pronounced approx. 200 m in altitude, and then gradually, it mellows slightly in order to lead us to the Summit (alt.: 1,600 m) (geodetic Terminal).
•    Access to the peak: 1 h 15.
•    Of Preynes: 2 h.
•    The ruins of Toulonet: 15 mn. The trail rises on the edge of a wood to the Northeast and reached the collar from the Praux (alt.: 957 m).
•    Of the Praux: 15 mn. By a small path to the North, follow a rump, go left a little damaged sheepfold and climb a nipple until the Summit (alt.: 1,031 m).
•    The Praux collar: 15 mn. To the Northeast, crossing the spine of the mountain, pass to a saddle mount tipped 1 046 m, join a breach which the descent is quite tricky because of small rocky escarpments (P2 - T1) between two very steep part slopes and other then climb to the top of St. Peter head, crowned by cliffs, between which it is rubbed to access (alt. (: 1,098 m) (geodetic Terminal).
•    The 1,031 m peak: 20 minutes.
•    The village of Beynes: 1 h 30. Point of view: to the North, on Asse Valley dominated by the mountain of le Cousson.

Chapel Saint-Étienne (1,154 M) (J5)

By the ravine of the Adrech de Renoux.
All difficulties: P2, T1 (for smaller hikers) time passages: meaning of the description: 1 h 30, reverse: 1 hour elevation: climb: 588 m, descent: 42 m.
Mileage: 3,250 miles. Features: pretty varied hiking. Can be done throughout the year.

Description of the route

On the R.N. ranging 85 from Castellane to Digne, East of the Clue de Chabrières, take the new bridge that crosses the Asse, preceding the hamlet of Chabrières, and going to the town of Saint-Pierre. Park immediately after the bridge (alt.: 608 m).
In R.G. River, eastward, back on strike, then take a small staked a yellow dot on approx. 200 m path, passing under the alder and Poplar. Before reaching a field fallow dotted with rapeseed, take a small grassy path to the right (downy oak and boxwood). It rises (P2) over the ravine of the Adrech de Renoux, right. It is dominated left by a hill crowned scrutinized Brown rocks. At a more open area, where the trail will reach the bed of the ravine, a trace deviates to left (alt.: 742 m). Views face-to-face on blades Rocky color of wine dregs.
•    Asse Bridge: 25 min. Climb this trail in grass dotted with Aleppo pines - yellow trace on the tip of a tree trunk - (P2 - T1 orientation). Make small laces, then cross the rump of the Hill (alt.: 778 m) to browse then the flank of the opposite slope southeasterly - crete is often steep - through the Woods, overlooking the ravine of left-hand Jouvert. Reach the source of Jouvert (ruins) (alt.: 870 m).
•    The ravine of the Adrech de Renoux: 25 min. Continue southward in rising gradually in an area more open, strewn boxwood, perform small laces. Between the escarpments, the coast is recovering, and then after a small wood, reach the ruins of the chapel Saint-Étienne, overlooking a series of Rocky (alt.: 1,154 m).
•    Of the Source of Jouvert: 40 minutes.
•    Asse Bridge: 1 h 30.

Mountain of Vibres

The natural mountain unit of vibrated is confined to the Northwest from the farm of big Jas located on the C.D. 17 going to Majastres, passing by the hair and then through the Valley of the mussel to the Asse of Blieux River; in the Northeast, by the river ASSE of Blieux until la Tuilière. on the Southeast by highway C.D. 21 so Blieux; Southwest, by C.D. 21 road and then the track C.D. 17 passing to Majastres until the Enclave of Senez wholesale stocked.

The Coulet de Calasse (1,621 M) (K1)

By the Clot of in Divon.
All difficulties: P2, with passage P3 (for average hikers).
Time: meaning of the description: 2 h, reverse: 1 h 30 to 1 h 45 metres in height: climb: 512 m, descent: 53 m.
Mileage: 4,200 km. Features: very nice climb leading to a fabulous point of view. A perform throughout the year, avoid the hottest hours of the summer. By snow, can be done on skis.

Description of the route

Of Majastres (alt.: 1 162 m), go to the Church where a marked trail in yellow and Red stands to the North. It winds first through vegetation, more then cleared and calade by location; reach the Villard crossed by a trail pass (alt.: 1,235 m) (P2).
•    Of Majastres: 15 mn. Cut the track to the Northeast, follow a small path on a hillside in des-cendant the ravine of the Font des Prés, after will be oriented to the East-South-East (P2). Reach the Creek (alt.: 1 182 m).
•    The neck of the Villard: 10 minutes. Cross it to Ford and reassemble it to his left (R.D.) through the Alders, the boxwood and genets. The trail deviates gradually from the ravine and amounts regularly by a pretty sweet side on the side of the nipple 1 322 m bypassing northeasterly. Pass over the ruins of the Bastide Neuve, overgrown with Brambles and hips, then find the map of the Clot of in Meer (alt.: 1 332 m) (P2).
•    The ravine of the Font des Pres: 30 minutes. To the Southeast, cross the Clot regularly amount first in a somewhat marshy area where one wades gleefully, then by drailles sheep through a rabbit Hutch invaded boxwood, broom and wild roses. Move to the rocky point preceding the great bar of the Calasse COE (alt.: 1,455 m).
•    Access to the Clot of in meer: 30mn. A trace deviates left northward between broom and Wild Roses, the browse amount directly left of the rocky point in order to achieve a plan. Climb right up the hillside to the East and join a rump (P2 - P3). In a point between the Melle left Ridge and the ridge of the Calasse COE right, growing in meadows, dotted with orchids and scabious whose loneliness is sometimes disturbed by the cry whine of marmots, to the top of the Calasse COE, which faces, characterized by a large cairn (alt.: 1,621 m) (geodetic Terminal).
•    The bottom of the rocky point: 35 min.
•    Majastres: 2 h.'s Point of view: to the North, on the foothills of the South. To the South, on the barrier formed by the Mourre de Chanier, the Chiran, height with for the latter its towering escarpments, and right, the crest of the Montdenier.

The Coulet de Calasse (1,621 M) (K2)

Mileage: 5.0 km. Features: route following a trail on the greater part of its course. May be carried out throughout the year, avoid the warm days. At skis, by period of snow.

Description of the route
Of Majastres (alt.: 1 162 m), with route K1, joining the col de Villard (alt.: 1,235 m)
•    Of Majastres: 15 mn. Take the lane straight Blieux, it rises gently and smoothly on the flank of the ridge of the hatch, firstly northeasterly and then, very quickly, regularly to the Southeast. The route is sometimes unattractive in this part, and then coming to a small Creek where it performs a hook and approx. 250 m more far East communal boundary Terminal (ALT: 1 464 m) (P1 - P2).
•    The neck of the Villard: 1 h. leave the track to go up by a trace to North-North-East, on a small grassy other (alt.: 1 565 m). In the same direction, get off a pass (alt.: 1 495 m), limit of watersheds and climb the Hill in the direction of a corridor cutting off the great wall of the Calasse COE on his right side.Cross it and reach the top of the Calasse COE (alt.: 1,621 m) near (geodetic point, cairn).

Description of the route

Go to the end of the road surface C.D. 21 serving the village of Blieux (alt.: 981 m), parking under the poplars. St. Joseph's oratory. Path, track access to Majastres, passing to the right of the oratory, flanked by the stream of the collar (pubescent, willows and poplars). Departs right in with roubines, go right a farm.The path performs laces at the bottom of the roubines and then regularly rises to the North. At the bottom of the ravine of Briande, bifurcation. The left hand path joined the farm of high-Chaudoul (goats).
•    The Saint-Joseph Oratory: 30mn. Continue to the right amount by laces; cross the bottom of the ravine of the Pierrieres as well as the Font of Bruscs. Let a small grassy path, win a sheepfold right (ruins overgrown by vegetation left of our journey). After crossing a small forest of pubescent, our track is moving north. Already, you can enjoy a beautiful view over the cliffs of the Calasse COE. Crossing the ravine of the field after two laces, reach a bifurcation (alt.: 1 461 m).

Description of the route

The village of Blieux (alt.: 965 m), possibility of parking (camping, lodging, food, bar). Take the track access to the hamlet perched on the prow of the bar of the Wallcreepers, in the ravine of glue Dr. Before entering the hamlet, borrow a little way northward on the hillside overlooking the ruin of coppice. Crossing a gully and pass over the farm of Tabatabaei. The path rises in a denuded area in order to join the Uegres sheep pens (alt.: 1,120 m).
•    The village of Blieux: 30mn. By a path, climb on the rump of the Hill, enough peeled, overlooking the ravine of Fonduas right, roubines and reach a collar (alt.: 1 252 m). -The Uegres sheepfolds: 15 mn. Northeasterly, climb the rump of the Hill through lush boxwood and broom, and then access the ridge of Montmuye. Follow it Northwest based often on the Northeast slope in order to arrive at the first Summit (alt.: 1 518 m).
•    Access to collar: 45 min. Browse the ridge that presents only very low altitude. Go point 1 531 m and peak 1,559 m dominated two needles Rocky hillside southwest of the mountain later: "Le Clocher" and "the belfry". Achieve further make cool collar, crossed by a track (source below watershed northeast) (alt.: 1 529 m). (Junction with route our K3 and K5).
•    Tip (alt. 1 518 m): 1 h. cross the track and win the 1 572 Mr. Ridge Summit is less marked, vertices are more rounded. Switch to a collar and climb to the Tip 1 578 m, before the Summit of the COE's Calasse, which can be reached by a pretty sweet side (alt.: 1,621 m) (geodetic point, cairn).

Description of the route

With the route No. K6, reach the village of Riou of Ourgeas (alt.: 775 m) and the chapel of la Melle (alt.: 1 147 m).
•    The village of Riou of Ourgeas: 2 h. Behind the Chapel, a small path deviates to the West. Pass over a park in sheep. It is now a wide path that performs several switchbacks leading us to a fork (ALT: 1 278 m). On the right, you reach the sheepfold of the fully restored high-Melle.
•    The chapel of la Melle: 25 min. Take left towards the Southeast. Rise following the folding of the mountain of the Ubac of la Melle, on a fairly bare ground, only a few black pine trees and stands of boxwood. To make fresh ravine (alt.: 1,410 m), the path performs wide hairpin bends which lead to cervical-are-cool after passing the ruins of are-fresh part and other of our journey, at the level of the source (alt.: 1 529 m).
•    The bifurcation of high-Melle: 1 h 05 (junction with routes Nos. K3 and K4). With route No. K4, reach the top of the Calasse COE (alt.: 1,621 m) (geodetic point, cairn).
•    Font fresh pass: 30 minutes.
•    The village of Riou of Ourgeas: 4 h. Point of view: see route n K1.

Summit of la Melle (1,579 M) (K6)

Description of the route

On the national road No. 85, between Digne and Castellane, exceed the village of Barrême on approx. 4 km to Sandra, and take a small road that crosses the Asse of Blieux by a bridge, until the village of Riou of Ourgeas (alt.: 775 m). Possibility of parking (acacias, Alders, lindens, poplars).
The first farm, in the middle of an orchard surrounded by larches, pass near a source and follow a straight dirt road South on approx. 100 m (small cross). Right along a Creek and then depart to the Southeast. Leave a path on the right that goes to la Bastide-Neuve. The coast is growing, the road turns towards the West on the flank of the trigger and reached the junction of the track coming from Sandra (alt.: 912 m).
•    Ourgeas Riou: 30 minutes. Turn right into rising regularly, following the folding of the mountain through a black pine wood. Reach ait. 1,083 m and descend gradually towards the South in the hollow of a ravine (alt.: 1,037 m) characterized by a great cherry. Above, left, Font Geline (sometimes dried up) source (P2).
•    Fork: 30mn.
After a bend to the West, follow the path through the wood of Neiries composed of deciduous vegetation: beech and pubescent; bordered hazelnut and raspberry, where the ground is littered with Cranberries. It is more and more on a carpet of dead leaves as we go along. Two small successive trails deviate to the right towards the gully. Towards the Southwest, then South, it overlooks a small wooden bridge that crosses the ravine of the Ourgeas Riou and lies in balcony in the rift formed by the Clue of the Melle where the bird's eye view is striking on the narrow gorges. Water flows of waterfalls in bays and swirling over the pots.This is more than a wide trail protected by a guardrail overlooking Gorge where a few lindens are hung in the cliffs. A small line was placed to feed a few houses.Achieve a cross (alt.: 1 106 m).
•    Font Geline source: 45 min. Then a small trail that weaves through the Alders and black pines, on the left side of the torrent (r.d.) at the bottom of very high roubines. The trail becomes less obvious. Cross Ford and rise to the right of the bed of the river; rocks are covered with Tuff. After crossing a meadow, reach the source of la Melle dominated by the chapel of la Melle (alt.: 1 147 m) (P2) (the route our K5 and K7 deviate to the left).
•    The clue of the Melle: 15 mn.
Curiosity: this chapel was fully restored. Behind, adjoining hut. to his right: small cemetery with three small crosses on the inside. On the facade, plate and killed Resisters during World War II. On a hillock, approx. 100 m to the West, small oratory. The site is dotted with walnut, maple trees, acacias and lime trees, covered ground thyme.
Head above the oratory and circumvent a nipple to the right, cross the ravine of la Melle and pass South of the ruins of Coigniers and then North to the elbows.Drailles sheep to reach a trail that rises very steep switchbacks. Take the West-North-West direction, and cross a Rubin to enter a pine forest leading to the ruins of the St. Elizabeth Chapel situated on a rocky promontory on the left (ALT: 1 410 m) (P2 - P3).
•    The chapel of la Melle: 45 min. Northeasterly track through hardwood (hairy) and boxwood, interspersed by small rocky jumps, emerge on the bar of la Melle (P2 - T1). Northwest follow the ridge to the Summit passing by places of small rocky passages (alt.: 1 579 m).
•    The St. Elizabeth Chapel: 30mn.
•    The village of Riou of Ourgeas: 3 h 15.

Mourre de Chanier-Chiran

Highest point of the Verdon Gorges where you can even observe the sea, weather permitting.

The gondola (1,689 M) (L2)

Since Rougon.
All difficulties: P2 (for average hikers) time: meaning of the description: 2 h 30, reverse: 1½ hours elevation gain: climb: 822 m, descent: 86 m.
Mileage: 7,100 km. Characteristics: fairly arid path, that should be conducted in the spring or fall. Can be walked on skis winter.

Description of the route

Of Rougon (alt.: 962 m), parking, win the Praux plain (alt.: 1 529 m).
•    Of Rougon: 1 h 55. Westerly deviate towards a gully and climb on a rump of fields, then in pastures along the bar of the Maurels (alt.: 1 610 m), very steep watershed S. perform a small descent to reach a gully (alt.: 1,592 m).
•    The plain of the Praux: 15 mn. To the Northwest, follow the succession of grassy hilltops marked by levels, to the top of the gondola, which ends with a rock semi-couronne (alt.: 1 689 m) (P2).
•    Of the gully of the Maurels: 20 min.
•    Of Rougon: 2 h 30. Point of view: from the top, very nice point of view on the sector of la Palud to the South, and the great peaks of the Verdon: Chiran, Grand Mourre, Mourre de Chanier to the North.

Mourre de Chanier (1,930 M) (L3)

Since the Périer.
All difficulties: P2, P3 passages and T1 for orientation (is for average hikers). Time: meaning of the descrip. : 2 h to 2 h 45, reverse: 1 h 15-2 hours elevation gain: climb: 669 m.
Mileage: 3,900 km 6,900 km with the circuit. Features: direct and rapid ascension in the garrigue and the ballast. Preferably make spring and ' fall. Can be walked on skis next snow winter.

Description of the route

•    Direct route
Périer (alt.: 1 261 m), leave a track continue westward to right a Carter road leading to la ferme des Paluds (alt.: 1,341 m) (P1 - P2).
•    Périer: 15 mn. To the Northwest, follow the edge of a field along an irrigation canal; at the foot of the hillside, heading to the Southeast; pass over the ruins of Vicari, and then by a small path through boxwood, broom, cynoredons and saskatoons, rising eastward in the direction of an Escarpment composed of breccias, which can be reached in a natural bridge. Pass under the bridge and be on the balcony of the Baumonts (alt.: 1,510 m) (P2 - P3) (right, to the Southeast, out a rain gauge).
•    Des paluds: 45 min. By a path on the edge of the escarpment, join the rain gauge, and bowing to the Northeast on a hilltop. A gully to the right, ride North, then Northwest, to the collar of the great plain (alt.: 1 751 m) (P2).
•    From the balcony of the Baumonts: 30 mins. A flank, to the East, on a rocky terrain (P2), to reach the crest (alt.: 1 884 m) be travelled Southeast to the top of the Mourre de Chanier (alt.: 1 930 m) (GEODESIC signal).
•    The neck of the great plain: 30mn.
•    Périer: 2 h. Point of view: to the South, on the Haut-Var, Centre var and Basse-Provence; to the East, the Alpes Maritimes; to N, the dignoises Alps and seynoises; to the West, on the Chiran with its Astronomical Observatory abandoned. At our feet, the Asse of Blieux in the North Valley.
•    Circuitous route: Circuit of the great plain
Périer (alt.: 1 261 m) with direct route, above, joining the great plain pass (alt.: 1 751 m).
•    Périer: 1 h 30. N-North-West, a track not far from the western edge of the dominating plateau escarpments, soil is dotted with spring gentians, and then northward, reaching the top of the Grand Mourre (alt.: 1 898 m) (P2) (the Summit is steep from all sides).
•    The neck of the great plain: 30mn. Thence southeasterly along the eastern edge of the great plain, switch to the breach of the portal (alt.: 1,864 m) and later at the col de Chanier (alt.: 1,842 m). To the East, joining the Petit Mourre (alt.: 1 873 m).
•    The Summit of the Grand Mourre: 30mn. Go South on a peat soil strewn with pebbles, and headed Southeast to climb the spur leading to the top of the Mourre de Chanier (alt.: 1 930 m).
•    Of the little Mourre: 15 mn.
•    The Périer: 2 h 45.

Description of the route

Of Majastres (alt.: 1 162 m), go to the Church where a marked trail in yellow and Red stands to the North. It winds first through vegetation, more then cleared and calade in places, reach the col de Villard, crossed by a track (alt.: 1,235 m) (P2).
•    Of Majastres: 15 mn. Advance right into pastures, and by a small present, join a small pass (alt.: 1,399 m) after passing right a ruin invaded by vegetation (P2).
•    The neck of the Villard: 15 mn. We are faced with a plan with right a few roubines. Browse corbelled surrounded by boxwood and broom with orchids and a few pines. Reach the collar of Saint-Sauveur. To the North, you can see the Summit of the Croix de Saint-Sauveur (no), and right, a succession of Rocky towers (alt.: 1 454 m).
•    Small collar: 30 minutes. Cross a second plane invaded boxwood (ruin left) and go over roubines. A small side led to the plane of the door (alt.: 1,578 m) (the L5 route deviates to the right).
•    Of the collar of Saint-Sauveur: 15 mn.
Browse this plan dominated right by the crest of the Chiran and left of the hatch. The coast is very low in the Middle Alpine meadows dotted with scabious, to miss a small source then fit in some fossil roubines. Further, we are under a beautiful circus of cliffs to our left; typical table of the limestone Alps. Then get on the crest of the continental divide (alt.: 1 629 m). Perform a fairly gentle slope, then fork right, where the descent is quite steep. Across the top of the Asse of Blieux Creek (alt.: 1,607 m), and on the right bank, circulate in balcony in a steep area, first to the Southeast, then South, in order to reach the hut of Peire Naisse (alt.: 1 532 m).
•    Access to the plane of the door: 45 min. Curiosity: do not be surprised at the Sunrise morning meet marmots tasting the first heat of the day. To the South, then Southeast, cross two successive streams and climbing on a rump. Cross left a third stream and by a trace on the flank the line of the crest of the Ruth, grassy regularly climb to the top of the Chiran which can be reached after passing through a saddle (alt.: 1,905 m). (Observatory).
•    Of Peire Naisse cabin: 1 h. curiosity: atop Mount Chiran are several buildings, including an Observatory Astronomical bulbous roof, recently handed in service by the care of the Blieuxoise Association for cooperation, development and education (A.B.C.D.E.). This Observatory is equipped with a celestron 8 and a 305 mm telescope. They can be used under the guidance of a competent facilitator. Housing and food can be provided on-site. Allow reservations.Front, watchtower. Geodetic Terminal. Alpine flora: gentian, joubardes, myosotis...Point of view: magnificent throughout the country of the Verdon and North to the Southern Alps and the massif des Écrins.

Description of the route

Of Majastres (alt.: 1 162 m), with the route n L4, win the hatch Plan (alt.: 1 578 m).
•    Of Majastres: 1 h 15. Browse the start of this plan, and deviate to the right towards the Creek. Cross it and rise by a small footpath diagonally by drailles sheep on the slopes of the ridges of the Chiran, until you reach the peak after a fairly steep area (alt.: 1,750 m approx.) (P3 - T1). Follow the Ridge towards South-South-East, above the cliffs often very important of the western flank to point 1 825 m.
•    Access to the plane of the door: 50 min. The Ridge turns southward, traverse it generally on his cutter, but on the side sometimes is, crossing several small peaks at altitudes: 1 772 m, 1 731 million, 1,701 m (cairn) (P2). Then come down to a small pass at 1,636 m, then go to the Southeast on a rump of pastures in the direction of the top of the Chiran which can be reached after passing a bowel movement (alt.: 1,905 m).

Description of the route

Of Majastres (alt.: 1 162 m), with the L4 route, joining the line of the watershed of the hatch Plan (alt.: 1 629 m).
•    Of Majastres: 1 h 35. By a draille sheep deviate left towards the Northeast and rising quite abruptly (P2 - P3) in the direction of a breach, in order to achieve a small plateau. Perform a corbelled left and by a fairly strong side, earning the Summit Ridge. A small plane of grass right leads at the top height (alt.: 1,777 m) (small cairn).
•    The hatch plan: 25 min.
•    Majastres: 2 h.'s Point of view: to the South, on the Mourre of Chanier and the Chiran; to the North is on Blieux Valley and the peaks of Montmuye.

Touchard circuit (L7)

Description of the route

Approx. 400 m before reaching the town of Blieux was built a small oratory on the side of the road (alt.: 927 m). A small path spreads to Western ears from the road, down to the Asse of Blieux. It passes under escarpments and joined the Roman bridge crossing the River (alt.: 909 m), up by a broad road to Marly soil. A small path deviates left Southeast in a wood very tight black pine and pubescent. A very small trail then crosses this small nice wood to bring in the roubines (alt.: 948 m). Follow the edge of a field of cereals from the farm of the Bruneas and uncultivated land to the South, go right a ruin; walk along a small irrigation canal and a coated road (alt.: 891 m).
•    The village of Blieux: 35 min. Right, to the West, follow this road, go to the bass Bastides and reach the hamlet of tuna where various ruins have been restored (alt.: 923 m).
•    Access to the path covered: 15 mn. Curiosity: this small hamlet located on a plateau is curiously surrounded by a circus of mountains Recalling the Vercors.Since the ridges and the Summit of Pre-chauvin, the ice cliffs of the Berbene and the Pioulet Ridge bypassing westward through the Mourre de Chanier, the Petit and Grand Chanier, the Chiran and height.The path towards Northwest then North, following the barrier of scarp-ments of the Touchard. Switch to high Bastides. Trees are quite isolated, but it has the variety (poplars, lime trees, willow, walnut trees, acacias, maples, etc.). This is no longer a coating but a marl soil dug ruts, with large flat stones that lead to the Roman bridge, then to Blieux.
•    The hamlet of tuna: 40 minutes.
•    Total of the circuit: 1 h 30. Off-route: high Bastides, deviate right uphill on a ground of marl Earth up to the crest of the Touchard. To the left (Northwest), following the Ridge, reach the Summit (alt.: 1,029 m) (geodetic tag).
•    High bastides: 15 mn.

Observatory of the Mont Chiran (1,905 M) (L8)

Description of the route

Win the end of the coating of the C.D. 21 road, serving the village of Blieux (alt.: 981 m), parking under the poplars, St. Joseph's oratory. (Gîte d ' étape). Back down the road approx. 150 m, a path diverges on the right, where a bridge crosses the river of the Asse of Blieux which allows access to the farm of the sharp.Work around it by the North and mount by a rump on top of a nipple; by a small path, follow the flank North of a crest to a collar (alt.: 1 212 m). Return to the Southwest, then Northwest, to achieve a small crest, limit of the watershed of the Asse of Blieux (alt.: 1 260 m).
•    The Saint-Joseph Oratory: 1 h. down slightly and mount quite suddenly on a mountainside in order to achieve a snare in a fairly steep area, above the ravine of the Villard (alt.: 1 348 m). Right, to the Northwest, follow the rump to the alt. point: 1,410 Mr. move towards the Southwest, on a steep hillside (P2 - P3) and climb switchbacks by drailles sheep, then return to the Northeast and the North, in order to cross the bottom of the crest of the Ruth (alt.: 1 560 m), then the slope North, cross slightly down Peire Naisse cabin (ALT: 1 532 m).
•    The 1,260 m peak: 1 h 30 (junction with route No. L4). Curiosity: see itinerary no. L4. With this route, winning the top of the Chiran (alt.: 1,905 m) (geodetic point). Curiosity and point of view: see route n L4.

Description of the route

Of Blieux (alt.: 914 m), by C.D. 21, exceed the promontory from the top of the village and take the first road on the left descending towards the river of the Asse of Blieux, that one crosses a bridge that spans it. Right, rising westward to the sheepfold of the strain (alt.: 954 m).
•    Of Blieux: 10 mn. Along the wide path, mount regularly by making a lace, and then after a long right to the South, on arid land, following the folding of the mountain, several switchbacks lead then to the crest of the Payam (alt.: 1 457 m).
•    The sheep of the strain: 1 h 30. Follow the ridge to the South, and reach its highest point (alt.: 1 523 m). This is more than a trace which slopes gently down towards the source of the Leches, then West, go up the ravine of the Leches right (R.G.) and by a loop towards the East in falls, work around the bottom of Petit Mourre in rising regularly to find Chanier cabin South of the latter (alt.: 1,780 m).
•    Access to the crest of the Payam: 1 h. curiosity: the Chanier cabin has been completely restored, it allows to protect themselves during a lightning storm. To the West, mount about directly to the uppermost rump of the Mourre de Chanier, which can be reached in the alt. 1 884 m approx. directly earn Summit (alt.: 1,910 m) (GEODESIC signal).
•    The cabin of the Chanier: 20 minutes.
•    The village of Blue: 3 h.
